The 2011 Walkathon Recap - A Walk to Remember
Wind, walkers, food and friends!!! May 1, 2011, from 10 -2, Project Independence celebrated and raised $9,000 for our programs at our 2nd Annual Walk for Independence and Health Fair. Over 100 registered walkers and it seemed an equal number of volunteers, showed up to promote health and fitness for people with developmental disabilities. Our sponsor Filice Insurance donated pedometers for all of our 700 clients, and sent volunteers to track steps.

Prize Winners
Winner of the most steps, Chris Crommet accepted accolades from the crowd and a winner certificate. Project Independence client John Aartman raised the most money and also had the biggest team. Be inspired by his story of determination and heart at www.proindependence.org

We rely on our families and friends to help underwrite our Healthy Living Program and Access to Adventure. For more information about how you can help Project Independence CLICK HERE. We have much work to do and it is only with our friends and family are we successful.
