Vantage Behavioral Day Supports
The Behavioral Day Support Programs serve adults with developmental disabilities 22 years of age or older in a 1:3, 1:2, or 1:1 staff ratio determined by the individual’s needs. The program is designed to serve adults who exhibit inappropriate behaviors which prevent them from successfully functioning within the community, vocational, or recreational settings without close supervision. Upon acceptance to the program, each individual goes through a 30 day assessment period utilizing a Functional Analysis of Behavior Assessment, Learning Modality Assessment, and a Quality of Life Assessment. After the collection and analyzing of the data, a Positive Behavior Support plan is developed to break existing patterns of behavior and to teach the individual replacement behaviors so that the individual can realize their potential while in the community setting.

In conjunction with the behavioral training program, each individual receives training in the areas of self-help, vocational, and community integration as determined by the individual needs, goals, and skill level. Adapted communication methods are also a part of individual training based again on individual needs. Integrated work positions include work in janitorial, landscaping, retail, and service areas. Community-based training provides instruction in purchasing, mobility training, social behavior, and community safety. Individuals may also attend college classes on integrated campuses.

Before March 2003, Regional Center consumer Rosa Rodriquez spent most of her days watching television in the Garden Grove apartment she shares with her mother. "It was so boring in the house–TV, TV, TV; Being home all day, I would get depressed." Click on Rosa's Story for full story.
