| How Long Should I Exercise For? |
| Start out everyday for 30 minutes. That way if you miss a
day or two you are still working out 5 days a week. |
| |
| How Hard Do I Need to Exercise? |
You should work up a sweat but not be out of breath.
Moderate physical activity is not running, it is not playing
sports you don't want to be involved in, it is not sweating
and huffing and puffing until you are exhausted. It is a brisk
walk with a friend, chatting the whole way. Walking fast enough
to feel a slight increase in breathing but not so fast that
you can’t visit the whole time. Make it fun! |

| How Do I Get Motivated? |
You are the most important person to help you decide to be
healthy. Other people can help but it really comes down to you.
Some good tips to help you to stay active however are:
 |
try to move around more in your normal daily
life; |
 |
choose an activity you really enjoy doing |
 |
exercise with a friend; |
 |
look for ways to exercise close to your home or work; |
 |
set goals and celebrate success |
|
| |
| How Can I Find Time to Exercise? |
| Exercise every chance you get. Buy a pedometer
and add more steps until you get to your goal. 30 minutes all
at once is best but one walk in the morning and one walk in
the afternoon for 15 minutes is a good start. |

health risk factors. |
2. |
help you decide what activity you would like to participate
in and help you find activities in your area. |
3. |
advise you on how much you should be doing. |
4. |
send you out information on a wide range of health and
fitness issues and refer you to different organisations
for more specialist information. |
