Life
Insurance. You can also name Project Independence
as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy. Simply transfer
ownership of an existing policy that is fully paid or you can
establish a new policy in the name of Project Independence and
make monthly or quarterly premium payments.
Retirement Plans. You may want to
use your retirement savings to make a contribution. Left to
heirs other than a spouse, retirement savings funds can incur
both estate and income taxes. Donating them to charity reduces
the tax burden borne by your heirs, and provides you with a
sizable tax deduction. Simply name Project Independence as the
beneficiary of an Individual Retirement Account (IRA), 401(k),
or other retirement savings plan.
Bequests. If you prefer, you can make
your gift through a bequest in a will or living trust.
Other Planned Giving Opportunities.
There are also a variety of planned giving instruments, such
as charitable remainder trusts, which can provide a significant
gift to Project Independence while providing you with an income
stream during your lifetime.
For additional information about making a planned gift to Project
Independence, please contact Fund Development Consultant Joan
McBride at 714-322-7437 or jjmcbride@aol.com.
Project Independence is pleased to recognize Robert
Watson for his membership in the “I Will” Club (as of December,
2010). |
