Volunteer Level III: Independent Living Support Volunteers

Description
This is the perfect volunteer position for an individual with a skill, interest, hobby, or area of expertise that they could share with our clients. The volunteer would work in small group settings, alongside IL staff to assess the need, create the schedule, and implement the program.

 

Requirements

Must be over 18
You will be required to meet with the Volunteer Coordinator
Must provide CPR/First Aid certification
Be willing to undergo background check
Show proof of liability insurance
Provide a 3 year DMV report
Show current CA drivers license

Project Independence’s mission is to promote civil rights for people with developmental disabilities
through services which expand independence and choice. Project Independence provides supported employment
and independent living services for people with developmental disabilities in Orange County, California as well as
disability benefits planning, and an opportunity for disability travel and recreation through its Access to
Adventures Program. Project Independence also has services available to businesses interested in hiring employees with developmental disabilities and has a special program promoting healthy living with a disability.
