Internships Overview
Project Independence is a wonderful place to fulfill internship requirements! Within each department there are 3 levels of internships each with a different emphasis: exposure, collaboration, and self-motivation. Get the most out of your internship experience by experiencing the following:
Start out shadowing different departments within our agency.
Take on more responsibility as you get more comfortable.
Work out a flexible schedule that fits your needs.
Get a variety of experiences by working in one or more of our departments:
Independent Living – teach clients daily living skills
Supported Employment – provide job coaching at client’s employment sites!
Day Program – serve clients during the week while they work
Access to Adventure – help out with our travel and recreational program!
Or, create your own custom internship! Help run events and programs, put your fundraising abilities to good use. Know how to write a grant?

Potential interns will be required to fill out an internship application, undergo background checks and other pertinent paperwork, and an interview process with the Internship and Volunteer Coordinator. Contact Roya Dedeaux at 714-549-3464 ex. 239, or at roya@proindependence.org.
