Project Independence Chosen to Participate as a Charity
Partner for the Orange County Marathon

Project Independence will participate in the OC Marathon May 6, 2012
to help raise funds for their programs serving people with developmental disabilities.
Costa Mesa, CA-- February 21, 2012 - Project Independence, a nonprofit organization that provides services to people with developmental disabilities throughout Southern California, announced today that they were chosen as one of 20 Charity Partners participating in this year’s OC Marathon.

Project Independence Receives Grant from the Community Action Partnership of Orange County's American Recovery & Reinvestment Act Community Services Block Grant
Costa Mesa, CA---April 15, 2010 - Project Independence, a not-for-profit organization which provides services to adults with developmental disabilities, has received a $51,000 grant from the Community Action Partnership of Orange County’s American Recovery & Reinvestment Act Community Services Block Grant.

Project Independence’s mission is to promote civil rights for people with developmental disabilities
through services which expand independence and choice. Project Independence provides supported employment
and independent living services for people with developmental disabilities in Orange County, California as well as
disability benefits planning, and an opportunity for disability travel and recreation through its Access to
Adventures Program. Project Independence also has services available to businesses interested in hiring employees with developmental disabilities and has a special program promoting healthy living with a disability.
